Tree of Life
“The tree of life is described in the Book of Revelation
as having curing properties: "the angel showed me
the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal,
flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down
the middle of the great street of the city. On each side
of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops
of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves
of the tree are for the healing of the nations."”
Revelation 22:1-2
The Salem Memorial District Hospital (SMDH) Foundation has been established by donors like you who believe in the future of outstanding and compassionate healthcare for our community. SMDH Foundation supports the hospital in achieving its goals through giving. The foundation raises funds and dedicates its resources to further advance the needs of Salem Memorial District Hospital and those it serves.
Although SMDH receives local tax revenue, your charitable contributions will help provide enhanced patient services through necessary life-saving technology, advanced medical equipment, education and facility improvements.
The SMDH Foundation's Tree of Life is a way for the foundation to show appreciation for your generosity. Your support today will allow planning for the future healthcare needs of our community. Donate to our community's healthcare future by honoring someone in your life, celebrating a birth or remembering a loved one who is no longer with you. There are several ways to give to the foundation and be a part of the Tree of Life. To make a donation, please contact Hospital Administration at 573-729-6626 to speak to someone during business hours or at your convenience click here to donate through our secure online access.

PAST EVENTS:
The 2nd Annual Foundation dinner was held on October 8, 2015, with a very good turnout, with donations still rolling in and expected to top $6,500. We will be updating this page when we will be applying funds raised to the noted projects.
Employee Foundation Parking Spot raffle and Easter bake sale netted the foundation over $600. Thank you to all employees donating bake sale items and employees and public for spending on wonderful bake sale items to help us continue moving forward on this worthwhile project.
Employee Foundation Winter Kick-off event included a bake sale with separate judging for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for cookies and candies entries. Baskets donated by various hospital departments were well received. Between these two Employee Foundation events, more than $1,000 was raised, as well as employees pledging to a yearly donation raised over $10,000. We are so appreciative of the caring of our employees.
Kick-off Dinner was held on September 18, 2014 with a wonderful turnout. Several donations were made, and the Tree of Life was recently put in place at the hospital to showcase those caring and able to make donations to this worthy cause. Thank you to those that made donations and those considering doing so in the future.
We will be updating this page frequently as the Foundation adds more events to its itinerary, so please visit often.
