SMDH Hospital Foundation has completed the planning for the 5K Walk/Run fundraising event on November 7th in Montauk State Park. Proceeds from this event will be designated to enhance our Jean B. Weaver Dialysis Unit. Have fun with us on this event and help the community at the same time.

SMDH received an Heart Lifeline Alliance award by having the lowest time for STEMI care from arrival to departure

(DIDO) from our Emergency Department to the next care facility. We are very proud of this initiative to improve

our patient's chances for a better outcome during this health event.

Planning ahead to attend Health Fairs in 2016? Dates have been scheduled for February 10th and 11th, May 11th and 12th, and September 14th and 15th. Remember to print and fill out the Screening form to bring with you to quicken your wait time. The Health Fair continues to be a huge success in the new location @ the Armory! We are happy to continue helping our community by offering these services at the discounted rate.

Donate Life America launched an online registry for organ, eye and tissue donors. The website, www.RegisterMe.org, also allows registered donors to create campaign challenges and track how many people register through their personal social media outreach. AHA is a partner in Donate Life America, a not-for-profit alliance committed to increasing organ, eye and tissue donation. For more on organ donation in Missouri, click here.

CONGRATULATIONS to Board of Directors member Dennis Fiebelman,                who was celebrated with an Excellence in Governance Award for 17 years of service to the Salem Memorial District Hospital                  as a Trustee to community at large and the hospital at the MHA Leadership Forum held in Branson June 17th-19th, 2015.

Blood Drive was held on 6/26/15: Thanks to all that were able to stop by and donate to help support the community and our nations veterans by giving blood in our Library location.

MHA released the Hospital Engagement Network 2012-2014 project report. The report details the results of the three-year project, which resulted in 9,060 patient harms and $91.7 million dollars saved. SMDH was noted as 1 of only 22 hospitals having achieved 40 percent harm reduction and 20 percent readmissions reduction by the end of the HEN contract of the 97 participating hospitals in Missouri.
